The Power of Networking – The Collective Realty

Relationships still rule.

The Power of Networking

We live in a digital world where people use GoToMeeting instead of going to meetings, and they use Facetime instead of having face time. A 4-second load time is too long for a website, and by the time you post something on Twitter, you can’t find it in your stream. It’s a demand generation where people want things yesterday. But in this world, relationships build trust, value, respect, and people do business with people they trust.

Meeting people in person is extremely refreshing. You can have a meaningful conversation, get to know a human without distractions, and connect on a whole different level.

Networking does not have to be work. You don’t have to try to “sell” everyone something. Networking should be fun, something you look forward to. If you can make a business relationship, then let it happen. It’s not about hustle and bustle – it’s about connecting great people with other great people who have skills to help each other grow.

We cannot fight a cultural shift to digital, and we wouldn’t want to. In fact, we embrace it. Here’s how we use today’s digital technology to build a networking event and attract more amazing people that add tremendous value to our group: we leverage networking websites such as MeetUp, LinkedIn & Facebook Groups, and we utilize event marketing sites such as EventBrite.com to expand to like-minded people.

What About our Last Meeting? 5/26/2016

Today I really enjoyed seeing familiar faces and meeting some new ones at the monthly networking breakfast at The Collective Realty in West Hollywood, CA.

We had impressive speakers today. Scott Langley, head coach at Emerge Attorney Coaching, kicked off the meeting and reminded us that we CAN do what we love professionally, and to also keep a leadership mindset. Scott’s team coaches attorneys, helping them battle burn-out and personal dissatisfaction, which a majority of attorneys and leaders perpetually struggle with.

Nixie Marie, Visionary Entrepreneur, Shamanic Artist, Designer, and Healer, closed out our meeting with an inspiring presentation of her beautiful artwork and a message about committing to your own path through self-love, empowerment, and healing. Such a positive, diverse, and friendly environment–and a great way to kick off a work day, meet new people, and hear what other businesses are doing in the local area!

Custom Creatives is part of the monthly networking group, hosted by Thomas Parker Harris, Realtor at The Collective Realty. We encourage anyone to come and join us every month! Referrals are being handed out, businesses are growing, and new relationships are being developed rapidly!
